- Africa: Niger, Benue, Volta and Senegal rivers (Ref. 2801 , 81282 ), also reported from Cross River but, so far, never found in other coastal basins in West Africa (Ref. 81282 , 81639 ). Also in Lake Chad system (Ref. 2801 , 81282 , 81639 ), Nile basin (Ref. 28714 ), Lake Albert (Ref. 4903 ) and Lake Turkana basin (Ref. 2801 , 52331 ).
