- Africa: widespread in West-Central Africa (Ref. 81639 ). Also known from the Dja River (middle Congo River basin)(Ref. 81639 ) and the Cross River in Cameroon (Ref. 51193 , 81282 ). Reported from around Dundo (middle Congo River basin, Angola) (Ref. 81639 ), but questionable as specimens are identified as Barbus sp. aff. progenys (Ref. 11970 ).
