Fodiator acutus, the sharpchin flyingfish, is a species of flying fish in the genus Fodiator endemic to the northeast Pacific Ocean and the eastern Atlantic Ocean.

Distribution
Eastern Pacific and Eastern Atlantic: USA and Mexico; Dakar, Senegal to Luanda, Angola. Records from the western Atlantic (off Suriname and in the Caribbean Sea) seem doubtful.
