The ashy darter (Allohistium cinereum) is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish, a darter from the subfamily Etheostomatinae, part of the family Percidae, which also contains the perches, ruffes and pikeperches. It is endemic to the eastern United States. Populations of this darter in the Cumberland River were recognized by Powers, Kuhadja and Ahlbrand in 2012 as a separate species A. maydeni (Redlips darter).
