Eirmotus octozona is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Cyprinidae, a diverse family which includes the carps, barbs, minnows and related fishes. This species is thought to be found in southern Peninsular Malaysia, but its range is uncertain as it is only known from the aquarium trade. It was first formally described in 1959 by the American ichthyologist Leonard Peter Schultz, with its type locality given as Bueng Boraphet in central Thailand.
