Ctenoscopelus is a monotypic genus of lanternfish, family Myctophidae. The sole species is Ctenoscopelus phengodes, the bright lanternfish. It occurs in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans on the southern hemisphere.

- Southeast Atlantic: between 8°S and 23°S, but absent from the Benguela Upwelling Region; extends to Agulhas Water pockets further south. Southwest Atlantic: between 28°S and the Subtropical Convergence. Indian and Pacific: generally between 20°S and the Subtropical Convergence, but from 9°S in the eastern Indian Ocean.
