Persists only in Europe by stocking (Ref. 59043 ). Introductions often brought with it the parasitic tapeworm Bothriocephalus opsarichthydis (synonym of B. acheilognathi ) (Ref. 12217 ). Several countries report adverse ecological impact after introduction.
