Distribution: Africa: lower Congo, Kasai, Kwango, Dja, Aruwimi, Wagenia Falls, Lualaba and upper Lualaba in Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of Congo and Angola (Ref. 11970 , 12818 , 87986 , 106245 , 106290 ). Also in the Rungumba River (Lake Tanganyika affluent) in Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 12818 ). Probably absent from West-Central and West Africa, where Chiloglanis batesii is found; reports of the latter from the Congo basin probably refer to Chiloglanis micropogon .
