Eastern Atlantic: Portugal, the Azores and Madeira to Sierra Leone and westwards to 50°W, and from Angola to South Africa. Western Atlantic: Brazil to Uruguay. Often confused as the juvenile form of Scomberesox saurus scombroides (Ref. 27121 ).
