小型卡氏短脂鯉為輻鰭魚綱脂鯉目脂鯉亞目鮭脂鯉科的其中一種，為熱帶淡水魚，分布於非洲剛果民主共和國的淡水流域，體長可達4.3公分，棲息在底中層水域，生活習性不明。

- Africa: upper Lulua (Kasai drainage, middle Congo River basin), upper Lomami (middle Congo River basin) and right bank tributaries of the Lualaba River (upper Congo River basin), including the Elila and Luama (Ref. 42032 ), in Democratic Republic of the Congo. Also reported from Lake Tanganyika (Ref. 42032 ) but this is unconfirmed in other sources (e.g. Ref. 598 , 6770 ).
