Africa: Congo River basin in Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 74421 ) and Zambia (Ref. 52959 ). Type locality in Ogowe is questionable as no other specimens are known from Ogowe drainage (Ref. 74421 ); considered a strictly Congo basin species in Ref. 80290 . Reports from Lake Tanganyika (Ref. 4967 ) and Malagarasi (Ref. 36901 , 93960 ) need confirmation.
